Myanmar Government and the Rohingya Muslims

The situation in Myanmar is causing an exodus of the Rohingya Muslims inflicted by the crimes of the military of Myanmar. The actions of the military have been described as textbook ethnic cleansing, grave abuse, and much else. The reasons behind the military’s actions is the government’s declaration that the Rohingya are nothing but illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, and hold no rights to refuge in Myanmar. With many member states struggling with an overflow of immigrants entering their borders, as well as war-torn nations constantly displacing citizens, the issue’s prevalence is widespread and the situation chosen for this committee is only one of many similar global happenings that has reached an absolute crisis level and deserves attention from many nations and points of view. There will be two rooms representing each side of the crisis, and the actions of each committee will have a direct impact on the other group, so delegates are encouraged to do careful research.
