The International Maritime Organization works to promote the safety, security, and efficiency of international shipping. This committee will discuss the threats that piracy and maritime conflict cause to global shipping routes, and develop strategies to mitigate the impact of those threats and ensure the continued operation of international maritime trade routes.

The “Energy Drink” Health Crisis in the 21st Century and Beyond
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations works to improve food safety, nutrition, and food security worldwide. This committee will investigate the growing health concerns associated with energy drink consumption, especially among the youth, and debate to find solutions to properly ensure the safety of those who consume these drinks.
Press Corps
The Press Corps will allow the delegates to report on the conference through articles, interviews, photography, and other creative methods. Delegates will interview delegates, report on committee progress, take photographs, and produce written blurbs that capture important debates and developments of their committee throughout the conference.

U.S. Senate
The Case of Birthright Citizenship
The United States Senate is the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress and plays an incredibly important role in shaping federal legislation and national policy. This committee will discuss the various different arguments for and against citizenship rights for individuals born within the United States, with senators advancing their legal arguments considering potential legislative reforms to existing citizenship law. This committee is for High School AND College delegates.

Evaluating Security Council Reform and Equitable Global Power Distribution
The United Nations General Assembly provides all UN Member States with a forum to discuss various international issues and coordinate responses. This committee will review whether the current structure of the UN Security Council is representative of the current international community, and what reforms, if any, should be made to improve its representation or power distribution amongst member nations.

Application of the Genocide Convention: Sudan v. UAE
The International Court of Justice is the principal judicial tool of the United Nations and resolves legal disputes between states. This committee will examine the case of Sudan v. United Arab Emirates and the application of the Genocide Convention. Delegates will analyze legal arguments and evidence to determine the responsibilities of the states involved.
Historical Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis: Preventing the Abuse of Nuclear Weapons for Political Domination
This Historical Crisis committee places delegates at the center of the Cuban Missile Crisis, where decisions can rapidly reshape the course of history. Delegates will have to navigate the diplomatic tensions and competing national threats, making decisions in order to avoid a nuclear crisis.
Ad Hoc
The Ad Hoc committee is unlike traditional committees. The topic, scenario, and delegate roles of the committee will remain secret until on the day of conference where each delegate will receive their role on their desk. Delegates will be challenged to quickly research new information, adapt to unexpected developments, and respond to an evolving crisis with limited preparation. This committee is recommended for experienced delegates.
